Start from the number already given.

Say the next number, not the start again.

Read it: Count forward by ones

Start at 7 and count forward 1: you land on 8. Each step forward is 1 more.

  1. Start at 7.
  2. Count forward 1.
  3. Say where you land: 8.

Counting forward goes up by 1 each step.

8 comes right after 7, so it is 1 more.

You can start at any number and say the next one.

Counting forward 1 is saying the next number.

Going back to 1 and counting all the way to 8.

Start at 7 and say the next number: 8.

What is 1 more than 9? — 10. 10 comes right after 9.

Count from 6 up to 10

Today we're going to count, but not from one. We'll start at six and count all the way to ten.

Here is our number line, from one to ten.

We start right here, at six.

Six... seven!

Eight!

Nine!

Ten! We made it.
